29 Jan 2026Honestly the WORST company - Trying to deal with my mums pension pot with her husband listed as the beneficiary but who is not tech savvy due to his age has been a PAINFUL struggle. Her other pension pot and provider were lush. The process was smooth, they accepted electronic copies of everything and were just all around easier to deal with particularly after the death of a loved one. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!

6 Jan 2026Waited months for my transfer to be actioned with constant excuses of staff shortages. Most staff are incompetent, useless and fob you off whilst telling you they are managers. Asked for recorded calls to catch their lies but still waiting for these. Stay away Edit to respond to theor comment. Why would I need to email anyone else. I emailed your complaints team who are absolutely useless at doing their job and cannot be bothered to respond.

25 Nov 2025“Seven weeks of delays, excuses, and incorrect claims about pension regulations.” I’ve now been waiting over six weeks (with no end in sight) for a simple transfer request from The People’s Pension to my SSAS. The experience has been nothing short of shocking. Every time I contact them, I’m told my case is “in a queue” and requires another 5–7 business days for a response — but nothing actually progresses. I’ve been stuck in this loop for nearly two months with no clear timeline and no accountability from anyone in the organisation. The most concerning part is that I’ve repeatedly been told my transfer cannot proceed because my SSAS and sponsoring employer “don’t have headed paper”, and that this is required under the pensions regulation act. This is completely false. There is no legislation anywhere in UK pension law that requires headed paper to process a statutory transfer. It’s an internal preference being misrepresented as a legal requirement. In other words, unnecessary administrative barriers are being presented as regulation — and used to justify further delays. To make matters worse, the complaints team openly admit they cannot provide any timescale at all due to “workload”. That is not an acceptable reason to withhold someone’s pension or delay a statutory transfer. I’ve dealt with numerous pension providers and trustees over the years, and this has been by far the slowest, least transparent, and most frustrating process I’ve experienced. If you value clarity, timelines, regulatory accuracy, or even basic customer service, think very carefully before using The People’s Pension. I would strongly advise others to research alternative providers before entrusting your pension to an organisation that hides behind process, misquotes legislation, and cannot meet even basic service standards.
