5 Feb 2026In August 2023, my wife and I received a Section 21 notice while she was pregnant, forcing us to vacate our home and attempt to fast-track a mortgage application. During that process, we discovered that a CCJ had been erroneously placed on both of our credit files, which made an already stressful situation even more difficult. With household and business costs rising rapidly, I approached James in need of clear guidance and an actionable plan. I was at a point where I needed direction, not guesswork. After working through a strategy together, James encouraged me to invest in myself by investing in my company — an SME within the construction industry. This felt counter-intuitive at the time, especially given our circumstances, but James was clear and confident in his reasoning. I committed the vast majority of our available deposit into the business, focusing on branding, positioning, and structure. Looking back, I can honestly say it has paid dividends. With the new brand identity in place and the company operating at a higher level, within the first quarter of 2026 we secured project bookings worth more than three times the size of my initial investment, exactly as James described it: an investment in myself. This is an approach I would never have considered on my own, and at the time it felt like a significant risk. However, James’s insight, clarity, and confidence helped me see the bigger picture, and the results speak for themselves.
