The schedule

The next announcement is the first row, then the meetings after it. Past decisions follow, most recent first. A future row stays scheduled until that day has passed and the Bank Rate series has moved, or stayed where it was.

What a decision day means for a mortgage

The last announcement was 17 Sept 2026: Held at 3.75%. The vote and the minutes stay on the Bank of England site.

Fixed-rate payments stay on the rate in the offer through the fixed period, whether the committee holds or changes Bank Rate. The deals lenders offer to new borrowers can move as the decision approaches.

Tracker pay rates follow Bank Rate plus a margin. They change when that series changes. A hold leaves the margin sitting on the same Bank Rate.

Standard variable rate is set by each lender after a decision. Lenders do not have to match the committee's move, or its timing.

The inflation print the committee is aiming at is on the CPI page. For a personal situation, speak to an FCA-authorised mortgage broker. Mortgage118 does not give regulated advice.

Common questions

Quick answers — not regulated advice.

Does an MPC meeting change my mortgage payment?

Only if your product follows Bank Rate and the committee changes it, or if your lender then changes its standard variable rate. A fixed rate stays as agreed until the fix ends.

What is published on the day?

Every announcement includes the decision, a summary, and the minutes. Four meetings a year also include the Monetary Policy Report. Those documents are the Bank of England's, and this page links to the official schedule.

Where is the authoritative calendar?
The Bank of England MPC dates are the official list. This page uses that published schedule for 2026 and 2027, and reads Bank Rate to show whether a past meeting changed the rate.
