Completed McEwan Fraser online contact form very late one evening, got a phonecall reply by morning the next day, very good service indeed. Received very helpful information and guidance from a friendly solicitor on how to take a cowboy builder to court for non-compliant/very shoddy building work causing potentially serious structural issues if not rectified/put right by others. Given honest advice and described in detail regarding what the full process will involve, which I am now confident of doing via my own involvement/McEwan Fraser's if I do decide to go down the proper legal route/court writ etc. Most solicitors would likely not waste their time discussing over the phone full details of the processes etc. if they suspected they would not get the work, I therefore highly recommend.

We sent an enquiry via the website for a solicitor on the Friday evening on a whim and received a call directly from the Managing Director to follow up on the Saturday morning! We were in a bit of a rush to gain a solicitor as naïve first-time buyers so that we'd have the option to put in an offer on a property we were viewing that very day, and James Milne was nothing but helpful. He went above and beyond to help us put a competitive offer on the table despite it being a weekend, and us being so last minute! Thanks to the help of him and the rest of the team, we had our offer accepted and are now proceeding with the rest of the legal aspects to getting our dream home. Due to the property we are purchasing also being sold by McEwan Fraser Legal and them representing the seller, they can't represent us for the sale. However, they passed us over really smoothly to Ralph Sayer, with no fuss. I'm still in contact with Emma Lynch, the property surveyor, who is equally as helpful in relation to contact with the sellers. Would definitely recommend based on service so far!

I asked a friend who is an independent mortgage broker who I should use for the sale of my mother’s property in Midlothian. Without hesitation he recommended the Edinburgh office of McEwan Fraser. I also checked a couple of other agencies and although McEwan Fraser’s fees were marginally higher, the benefits outweighed the others. Longer opening hours late into the evening, seven days a week, meant that potential buyers were able to contact them straightaway. Furthermore, their social media presence was excellent and the photographer that they used provided excellent photos for the sales brochure. These two things alone meant that we received instant interest. Thereafter, the hard work of completing the sale was left in the very capable hands of their legal department who kept us appraised at all stages. It is even more remarkable that this was even able to be completed over the Christmas/New Year period when most places close down. A special word of thanks to Zoe Carmichael who was our first point of contact when valuing the property and who gave us pointers on how to present the property for maximum impact and also later on in the sale. Shay Graham in Production who was super-efficient at coordinating all the preparatory administration including the Home Report, photographer, title deeds etc. And finally, thank you to Caitlin Anderson in Legal who reassured us throughout, even when it looked like our sale was going to fall through, that it would come good. McEwan Fraser have a huge team and that is what makes the difference when it comes to selling your property. I would happily recommend them.
