We instructed Fourth Wall Building Consultancy for a Level 2 survey, and they were easily the best surveyors we’ve used in the area. From the outset, communication was clear and reassuring, which made a big difference during what can be a fairly stressful part of the buying process. The survey itself was carried out promptly, and the report struck exactly the right balance between technical detail and plain-English explanation. It was thorough without being overwhelming, and it was very clear what issues were genuinely important versus what was more routine maintenance. What really stood out was how practical the advice was. The findings were well explained, with sensible recommendations and context around urgency and likely costs. It gave us confidence to move forward with the purchase and helped inform our discussions with the seller. Overall, the service felt professional, honest, and well thought-through from start to finish. If you’re looking for a reliable pre-purchase survey or a Level 2 survey carried out by people who clearly know what they’re doing, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Fourth Wall.

Very mixed experience. The level 3 survey report was really detailed and useful, and the surveyor responded to my initial queries by email quickly. He offered a 15 minute call for a more detailed discussion, which I booked and confirmed with him by email. I really needed this for a better understanding of some of the report. When it came to the time of the call, he did not show up and I received absolutely no communication about this, or afterwards. I phoned the office repeatedly, and when I finally got an answer from somebody else, they said they would try to find out what had happened and get back to me. Nobody got back to me. I followed up the next week to ask what had happened and if we could reschedule - no response, no apology or explanation. Really disappointing, confusing, and unprofessional.

Fourth Wall BC were brilliant throughout. Customer service took just under two weeks to get from quoted to survey back :) also excellent service from Pete Nichols who did a great job on the house I’m purchasing/explained the survey report to me. Would use again.

Had a very positive experience with Joshua Weston. Made the visit very easy. Answered questions. The survey was very thorough and the report recommendations were really helpful. Minor quibble was that Josh was over half an hour late. I guessed he got stuck in traffic and I tried to contact the office. The phone just rang out and no reply to email. When Josh did arrive and confirmed he had been stuck in traffic he said he had let the office know and asked them to ring me. This didn't happen and it did make me late for something after. But this wouldn't prevent me using the company again. Woud recommend them.

Do Not Use for Measured Survey We used fourthwall for our purchase building survery. This seemed quite good, so we went on to use them for our measured survey also. Our architects and builders pointed out that what was produced was completely inadequate and inaccurate. Measurements missing, windows in wrong places, distances, angles, gradients etc wrong or set to convenient defaults. When this was highlighted, we received long replies from fourthwall about how the drawings were fine, and part of the issue was our misinterpretation of the brief. Only on writing a very long complaint, pointing out all the blatant inaccuracies was the invoice voided. There was no acknowledgement of the errors, no apology, just a single lined response advising they wouldn't charge us. We have a survey from a different company now, for a similar price, and the comparison is shocking showing complete inadequacy of fourthwalls attempt. Unfortunately really disappointed with this service after an initial encouraging building survey. I would not use again for any services due to my concerns about how poor and dishonest the measured survey was.
