West One Loans

I just wanted to leave a review of my experience (customer not broker) I had no dealings directly with West One but wanted to feedback my success story given all the negative feedback here. I applied via Loans.co.uk the mortgage broker. After the initial review some more documents were requested and the survey scheduled. I think there may have been two more requests for information before getting to the formal offer just over 3 weeks after my initial application. I was pleased they didn't run a hard credit check until the final stage which was the same day as the formal offer. Funds were released the same day.

Great and efficient recruitment process aided by Steve Madan, who made everything as clear and easy as possible for me- outlining the key steps of the process and what I needed to do. He communicated well throughout the process and has helped me to settle in.

West One are by far the best Specialist lender on the market. Their service is second to none. In particular Sean Staunton. He is very knowledgeable on West One criteria and products, always takes my calls and if not available, calls back right away. Underwrites cases as quick as he can and is a joy to work cases with. Sean, thank you for continually being an amazing support!

Thanks to the dedication of Sean Staunton we were able to secure a mortgage for a very deserving person who was in quite a complicated situation. Sean really went above and beyond, contacting us promptly after our inquiries, and continuing to support us with the application even when it was well outwith his purview. We definitely couldn't have done it without him!

⭐ Very Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience I would give zero stars if possible. West One Loans has been the most unprofessional and unreliable company I’ve ever dealt with. I applied through a broker and provided every single document they requested — for over four weeks they kept asking for more details, and everything was done properly. My property is worth £350,000, and they offered me a £125,000 loan. Everything seemed to be progressing smoothly, and we were at the final stage. Then, out of nowhere, they informed my broker that they were not proceeding with my case, giving no explanation or reason whatsoever. This was extremely upsetting and disappointing, especially after all the time and effort invested. I would strongly advise others not to apply with West One Loans — very poor communication, no transparency, and a complete waste of time. Not even deserving of a single star.
