I filled out the forms without using my real birthday or email address to avoid giving away my information. NerdWallet showed me the same major insurance companies that dominate the market: Geico, Progressive, AAA, Allstate, and Direct. The only one offering Rideshare car insurance in Chicago is Progressive. However, NerdWallet does not mention this fact. Furthermore, you don't get quotes directly from NerdWallet; instead, you need to apply on each company's website. The more you look for cheaper insurance, the greedier these companies seem, making your quotes more expensive. It's unfortunate that NerdWallet promotes the predatory rates of the same insurance giants that control the market. I recommend they be more transparent about these aggressive insurance companies.
