5 Nov 2025recently called Godiva Mortgages on behalf of my mother, whose first language is not English. I was assisting her by translating what the representative was saying. During the call including during security verification the representative told me I should not have spoken, despite my involvement being necessary for my mother to understand the information. Later, my mother asked if she could hand the call over to me, and the representative again refused. The representative’s tone was rude, unhelpful, and lacked cultural sensitivity. This made it very difficult for my mother to access her own mortgage information and caused unnecessary distress. I hope Godiva improves training and allows support for customers who need translation or a trusted family member to assist during calls.
