As attorney for my elderly grandparents, I was looking for a new financial advisor after their previous advisor disengaged due to a dementia diagnosis. I found Emma McMahon via the Society of Later Life Advisers website. I contacted Emma directly, and with only rough financial information available to me at the time, she was more than happy to have an initial no obligation conversation. She provided much useful guidance and demonstrated clear knowledge of later life issues and topics. Later when I provided more accurate financial information she was happy to have a look and provided yet more useful guidance, but was also honest enough to say that "planning at this stage may incur disproportionate advisory fees". So, whilst we have not engaged Emma at this time, having demonstrated excellent knowledge and ethics, should we require any later life planning services in the future then we will be looking no further!
