Equity Release: Mike Daniels. Me and my husband would like to give 5 Stars to Mike for providing us with excellent customer service. We were looking to do equity release on our property but had zeroknowledge about how it works or how much we can borrow or anything else. In fact, we just did not have any hope that we would even be able to do an equity release at all.We spoke to Mike and from the first time we spoke to him, we felt like we had made The right decision. He explained the whole process to us with ease and even gave us the exact facts and figures right down to the last penny of how much we can release, and how much it will cost overall. After speaking to Mike, we did speak to 2 other companies, but we decided to go with Mike as his knowledge and experience is very extensive. The professionalism and sheer compassion with the balance of respect and dignity shown by him throughout the process was next to none. He is non-judgmental and very helpful. He understood our situation and gave us several options. He explained everything in detail and used simple language going through things with us with a fine-tooth comb.All in all our experience has been very calming(and the best thing is that whenever we need to speak to Mike, he is always available or if he is busy with another client, he will always call you back. I have just completed a Lifetime Mortgage on my property in just over a month. The whole process (from product options and choice to implementation and completion) was managed expertly by Mike who was open and transparent about all the issues that I might face. I appreciated his openness about the products on offer, since the market for this type of mortgage is not easy to understand and there's ample room for error. Admittedly my circumstances were relatively simple, but all went smoothly and overall I'm very happy with the outcome. He also recommended an efficient and helpful set of Solicitors to manage the legal stuff (Equilaw). Mike is great to deal with, efficient and proactively contacts you over specific issues, most of which I didn't realise were issues. He made time for a home visit, despite these trying times, and this was was particularly welcome and well managed. Overall, it has been a pleasure dealing with Mike, and I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

The Equity Release mortgage market is not transparent and you have to go through a broker. Frankly this just makes the market inefficient as it has the effect of reducing genuine competition. We had an interest only building society mortgage which was due for repayment and, having retired, no longer had enough income to raise sufficient proceeds from the mainstream mortgage market. We looked around and got quotes from a number of brokers whose names we obtained from the Equity Release Council website including Mike Daniels. In terms of interest rate and proceeds based on our age, all the quotes from the different brokers were largely identical. Some brokers we obtained quotes from were quite selective in the quotes they shared with us and indicated that they had only sent the best quotes. We liked Mike because he was extremely transparent and sent us all the quotes he received to show that he had done a trawl of the wider market and was genuinely sharing with us the best quotes he had received. We asked for quotes from multiple brokers over a period of several months to make sure we fully understood the pricing and proceeds which were available to us given our age. Mike agreed to waive his fee to us given the size of the mortgage we were planning to take and was quite upfront in being willing to do this. A number of other brokers proposed to charge a four figure fee to us without disclosing at that stage that they would be receiving a five figure introduction fee from the mortgage lender on completion. The amount of the broker's fee from the lender is stated at the end of the mortgage offer so there is no reason for any broker to be shy about this. Having selected a product, Mike was extremely proactive in taking us through to offer and completion. He was very prompt in responding to our calls and questions even once completion had taken place. For his transparency, proactivity and flexibility on fees I think he is a safe pair of hands in the equity release market. I would highly recommend him.

Mike is very helpful and friendly. I have had several visits and no hard sell. Allowed as much time to think about it as I need . I am assured that I can decide what is right for me with no problems and I can say no at any time. I have been given a full printed paper detailing all cost, percentage and calculations so can review at my leisure.
