1 Mar 2024Well I had financial advice from this company. I took it all onboard and believed that advice was good and correct . It’s all about trust ! ! More from your end than theirs ! It was during some bad financial years Covid & the war in Ukraine, so none of this helped. All I can honestly say my Pension fund lost money, I was told that a lot have lost more, but you just don’t know. Although I found dealing with Nick pretty good, I do believe that once they sell you a fund etc , they then start earning a monthly commission then that’s it to a point, they then move on to enticing new clients. Anyone investing in these expensive pension fund platforms needs to realise that there can be some very heavy charges to move money in and a monthly fee. I was charged a very heavy transfer fee from an old pension , and then a monthly fee. I was then charged a monthly fee from the platform administrators. Needless to say the only people who made any money from that pension pot were IFP associates & Quilter Plc. I actually lost money ! I think the annoying thing is these people charge you a lot of fees even when your investments are not making any money. In the normal world most people are paid on results ! Not losses ! They always have a way of making their account of the events come right, excuses, graphs etc etc. But again it’s all a bit much for most people & you believe what you’re being told is correct it’s all about you have to totally trust. There were also times when I believed certain advice should have been forthcoming and most times it wasn’t . So I had to intervene to prompt and make important necessary adjustments and I was usually right, then they make their paper trail come right so it appears as their idea . My advice to anyone looking for a financial advisor is, they can’t see into the future they make calculated assumptions based on your profile. But they are very expensive, and the annoying thing is you need them , pension companies won’t deal with you alone. But do your homework shop around !!
