Mortgage Lane and specifically mortgage advisor Ben Reese deserve a 10 star review. Finding myself in a tricky financial situation I was in a desperate to secure a mortgage and had a deadline of just under two months to complete on my house. I had already been to 2 other whole market mortgage brokers with no success, no lender wanted to touch me as I’m currently on a 0 hour contract with less than a years employment on a low income. I had given up any hope until a friend advised me to try Mortgage Lane. Ben Reese was assigned to my case. Ben thoroughly looked through all my information and different income streams including universal credit and child benefit. Ben advised me of Mortgage Lane fees for their service, I was very sceptical when I found out there was a separate fee for securing a mortgage in principle and a smaller fee for the offer. I was honest with Ben and told him my doubts, I was concerned I would have to pay a fee for in a mortgage in principle, as I knew I could easily get this, but it was the offer that I was worried about as I had not been able to get one of the previous two brokers. Ben reassured me that he would not even attempt to apply for a mortgage if he did not believe that it was possible to attain. At this point I had no other option and I put my trust in Ben. The whole process was quick. Immediately after the mortgage in principle was secured, a home survey was carried out within days. Home survey report was generated on the same day. I had a mortgage offer within a few days and completed on the house within 2 months from start to finish with a brilliant broker and solicitors. Yes my mortgage rate is higher than the average as we used a specialist lender due to my financial circumstances but I’m still saving hundreds in comparison to what I was paying in rent each month and now I’m back on the property ladder, I could not be happier with the service from Mortgage Lane and Ben. Tom has been a great help through securing a mortgage all the way through to completion! He was very responsive whenever I sent an email with a response within minutes! I had a really difficult time with my solicitors and their communication, but Tom's quick and regular updates from the lender helped keep me at ease and the process going. From the first call/email with Joe he promised to find me a mortgage (a very niche mortgage) and not give up until he had, knowing full well it was be a mamouth task.
