I had a very awkward and disappointing experience with this mortgage broker. Instead of helping me find the best mortgage deal, he pushed me toward a private lender with a much higher interest rate—just so he could earn a bigger commission. He was not honest about my options and didn’t even attempt to secure a mortgage from a high street bank. I later found out that I could have qualified for a much better deal elsewhere. This experience felt misleading and unprofessional. I do not recommend this broker to anyone looking for honest and reliable mortgage advice. Do your own research and find someone who genuinely has your best interests at heart.

I’ve been trying to sort out my finances since January! Smart Step were my 3rd atttempt having been recommended by a friend. Well i was so impressed with the professionalism and ‘can do’ attitude. Nothing was too much trouble. Charandip stuck to the deadlines agreed and kept me informed at EVERY stage unlike the competition who only made matters worse by running several credit checks through different lenders! After the promised 2 weeks unfortunately Charandip couldn’t assist as my situation was complicated he did however offer me a recommendation to an alternative broker and helped me all along the way. Within 2 weeks I have sorted everything. The company he recommended were outstanding as were Smart Step! Not only will I be back next year but WILL recommend Charandip to everyone I know!

People who think getting mortgages is boring have never got a mortgage through Chaz, and should rectify this immediately. Never has collating bank statements been so entertaining. Yes, he makes you do the practical stuff like dig out dog eared credit card statements from the back of the drawer, but he does it in such a pleasant and charming manner it is hard to be mad at him for long. Twice he has secured us a cracking deal, showing off with his extensive knowledge of all the lenders and name dropping his contacts in the industry, getting us the best deal possible for our never straightforward circumstances. Sadly for him I will be back demanding my next set of specific criteria in 2 years when my current deal expires, but to keep him busy in the meantime I would highly recommend him as your broker of choice.
