Nothing but positives with our experience with L&C during our house purchase. We were assigned with Darrel, whom I'll be recommending to everyone when they begin their house journey. Darrel was patient, informative, polite and down-to-earth, considering the fact that we both work full time and had to fit our phone calls with him to our schedule, which fluctuated. Even when our first house purchase fell through, Darrel was still working on our case for our next and final house purchase, which we really appreciate. L&C were recommended by a friend, so I'll pass on the favour and recommend them to whomever is reading this. Great experience.

We used L&C to arrange a remortgage. We were explicitly told in writing that our remortgage would complete on 2 January. Based on this assurance, we reasonably believed everything was progressing as planned. We later discovered, after contacting our current lender ourselves, that there was no record of a lender switch and that the application with our new lender had not progressed beyond the application stage. We ended up being moved onto a higher variable rate rather than transitioning to the new lender. Communication throughout was incredibly poor, and we repeatedly had to chase for updates. For something as significant as a mortgage transfer, this level of oversight is unacceptable. L&C concluded that there was no financial wrongdoing, but apologised for the poor communication. The whole reason for using a mortgage broker is to make the process painless and transparent - this was not the case. Extremely disappointing experience.

The service I received from L&C was fantastic. They made navigating the confusing and stressful process of applying for my first mortgage seem simple! Dan, as my mortgage expert, provided an truly incredible service. He was personable, explained things clearly, and was always happy to help with any queries I had. The case manager, Amy, then helped me with the final stages of our application. I could not be happier. I would recommend L&C to anyone and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

L&C started out ok, but communication became a real issue at a key stage in the process. When the advisor left the company, I wasn’t informed, and no one picked up my case. This left me repeatedly chasing updates during an essential period for securing a rate. When I raised a complaint, L&C initially told me I hadn’t missed out financially. After I challenged this, they reviewed the case again and acknowledged I could have secured a lower rate, and they refunded the difference. I appreciate that they ultimately corrected the mistake, but it shouldn’t have required that level of persistence on my part. Overall, my experience highlighted two areas that L&C could improve: communication and ensuring continuity when an adviser leaves. If those processes were more reliable, the overall service would be much stronger. Overall, I found L&C unreliable when it mattered most, and I will never use them again.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to L&C for their professional and responsible service throughout our mortgage application. Callum, our Mortgage Adviser, was extremely professional and offered the most suitable advice based on our situation. He helped us secure our mortgage smoothly and made the whole process much easier for us. Flora, our Case Manager, was also highly professional and incredibly efficient. When our previous solicitor gave us incorrect advice, she immediately helped us double-check the details with the lender and guided us through resolving the issue. Her timely support truly saved us from unnecessary delays. L&C is a very trustworthy and responsible company. They made the entire mortgage process far less stressful, and we are genuinely grateful for all the help from Callum and Flora. Highly recommended.
