I recently met with Ian, to discuss over a coffee my financial situation as I was looking for a planner and someone to manage my pension. Having set up my own business a few years ago, I had been putting this off and not giving it my full attention. Ian put me at ease straight away and in a relaxed and professional manner talked me through my options.

We had a death in the family meaning all financial affairs needed to be looked at. Ian arranged all the pensions into the correct pots with good investments and helped with the settling of the pensions of the deceased family member. Ian fought our case to the bitter end; I was very pleased with Ian and all his hard working staff.

Really great company to deal with, especially George and Ian. Their combined knowledge about pension schemes and smart investments is impressive to say the least. I've also attended one of their educational webinars about tax efficient investments, which was very helpful as well.

Due to the Pension disaster in the 1990's whereby my pension fund was 'disallowed' for some footling technical reason and all my contributions for 15 years were returned with minimum interest only, I found myself needing to find a financial adviser. Ian Batterbee helped me by recommending a high earning fun for my money and quadrupled it in 2 years. We agreed that in the circumstances a high degree of risk was necessary to make that kind of recovery, but it was necessary. It paid off (thank God). He has since put my money into much lower risk funds but has still managed to make a very good return. Further to Ian’s advice, I received the outcome I was hoping for and could not have done anything better.

I've known Ian for over 20 years both personally and professionally and cannot recommend his services at BWM highly enough. He has a fantastic ability to describe even the most complicated financial scenarios in layman's terms, he is patient, extremely hard working and goes out of his way to ensure you have absolutely all the facts before you make any decisions. Importantly too, he is not the "pushy" kind of IFA and you never feel forced into anything. Also, he is an absolute gold mine of music trivia. Loves a fact.
